3 Reasons Why I'm Starting to Write Online (Again)
Recently, I signed up for Dickie Bush & Nicolas Cole's cohort-based course, Ship 30 for 30.
So what?
Consider that:
I'm a 15 year marketing veteran in the tech industry.
I'm in grad school working on my masters degree in marketing.
I've taken copywriting courses.
So on paper, I seem like an unlikely candidate.
Too often, people just decide to stop growing their skill set.
Here's why I am starting to write online (again).
Here are a few reasons why:
- Short form social media posting diluted my long form writing skills.
I started my first blog in, well it was several years ago.
I'd get an idea, POV, or piece of news and I would just have to write a post. I would get in the zone and the words would just flow into the post. When Twitter, Threads, Facebook, etc came along, I participated like everybody else, but after awhile when I'd go back to write a blog, getting into my zone became more difficult.
I concluded my long form writing "muscle" had been diluted, and I had to change that. - I needed an efficient online writing and publishing strategy
The days of posting and praying are over.
There are so many content platforms and new forms of media, I knew I needed a framework that would teach me to publish the right content on the right platform at the right time. Online content is as much about design as it is substance. Layout, spacing, bullets, headings, subheadings etc. are as important as what you write, because It needs to read properly on phones, tablets, and laptops.
And with so much content out ther competing for readers' attention, I wanted to give myself the best opportunity for my content to be read. - I want to help entrepreneurs grow by learning to write copy
Most online entrepreneurs are rightly focused on their customers, products and services. Understandibly, writing is something they just wing. Professional copywriters are out there, but they either don't serve solopreneurs, or their rates are unaffordable. I want to share what I learn with them,
Over the next 30 days, I plan on writing about copywriting, email, and sales pages..
Join me on this adventure—and let me know if you have any questions along the way!
I'm excited to start sharing what I know online.
